How we work

We look before we quote. Every estimate comes from a ladder — the fascia or the gutter board, the hangers, the outlets, and where the water ends up. The price you get is the price you pay unless the gutter is hiding something we couldn't have seen, and then we show you before touching it.

• Proof of liability and workers' compensation insurance before the crew arrives.

• A water test before they leave.
• No pressure to sign on the spot.

Registration and insurance

Pennsylvania doesn't issue a trade license for gutter work. What it does have is the Home Improvement Consumer Protection Act, which requires contractors to register with the Office of Attorney General, carry liability insurance, and put any home improvement job over $500 on a written contract that includes the registration number, the total price, the start and finish dates and the scope. A contractor who says they don't need it for a gutter job is wrong, and that tells you something about the rest of the job.

What we don't do

We don't do roofing, foundation waterproofing or masonry. If we see a slipped slate or a failing chimney flashing while we're up there, we'll tell you and you can take it to a roofer. We don't sell guards under trees that don't justify them, and we don't take a deposit on repairs.
